A quick roundup on some recent interesting news in solar and sustainability

Subscribing to google alerts on solar, sustainability and green building allows us to stay up-to-date on a number of interesting news stories. We see everything from trends in building and construction, to seeing how farmers are implementing sustainable practices, to reading about the latest big company turning to solar in an effort to use 100% renewable energy to power their offices, facilities and stores. No surprise, there is an abundance of coverage on these topics, and below are a few recent stories that piqued our interest.

From Forbes, The Future of US Solar is Bright gives a great overview of the current solar landscape in the US, how we compare globally, and where we're poised to be in the years to come.

Forbes also recently ran a great story, Growing Leafy Greens in Massive, Sustainable Greenhouses, about a new business, Revol Greens, revolutionizing the way in which food grows on a large scale AND sustainably.

And even LEGOs is stepping up their eco-game. In TechRound's Building a Sustainable Future from Lego Bricks, we discover Lego's renewed push to make their environmentally UNfriendly little plastic toys out of more eco-friendly material. Fingers crossed that the new material will also feel sliiiiightly better when unexpectedly stepping on one in the middle of the night.
